PROTECT – SAVE Campaign

On the 11th July 2020, Friends of Boxwood launched the PROTECT-SAVE Campaign. 300 posters and car stickers were printed and distributed around the wood boundary via members of the group. There is now a Tree Preservation Order which was issued by East Herts District Council initiated by Councillor Ken Crofton and Walkern Parish Council. We are indebted to them for their help and support in protecting the woods. Now, Box Wood has three important protections:

• Box Wood is a Scheduled Ancient Monument with Historic England
• Box Wood is a listed Replanted Ancient Woodland registered with Natural England
• ALL of Box Wood’s trees are protected with a Tree Preservation Order
